Welcome to The Coppice Nursery

Our aim is to create a positive and caring learning environment where children can begin their journey to become happy, confident and successful learners well prepared for life.

We endeavour to provide a secure and inviting environment which caters for all the needs of your child.

During an inspection, Ofsted stated: 'Teaching in the Early Years Foundation Stage is outstanding and this is helping to accelerate the progress made by the children. One reason for this is the excellent questioning by all staff, who take every opportunity to extend and enhance the children’s understanding. Tasks are well prepared and very well matched to the needs and abilities of all the children.'

The Nursery team.

Comments from Nursery Parents

"I have a daughter who started The Coppice Nursery in September 2015 aged 3 years and 2 months. She has received outstanding support from the staff. She has always been a confident little girl, but did need help with paying attention, sitting still for the register and story time and especially waiting her turn for a toy and sharing. I have noticed a massive difference. She has mastered all of these and a whole lot more. She is a very happy little girl who has made lots of friends and always looks forward to nursery. My child has a great understanding of everything required at her level. I would like to thank the nursery team for all of their kind support. Thank you very much."

"Well, what can I say about this amazing nursery? In September my very nearly 4 years old entered as a shy and quiet little boy who very much kept himself to himself. Quite quickly this was noted and the teachers worked very closely with myself and my son to help him build up his confidence. Now 8 months in and he is a different child. He has some great relationships with staff and is making some wonderful friendships. A fantastic nursery and I would highly recommend it to anybody!" Rebecca Tomlins

"Just to say we are really pleased with the progress that our son has made at nursery. We feel that he has come on well in terms of his improvement from where he was. Thanks for all your time spent with him." Kelly Baker

Look at some of the activities we do in our Nursery...

The children had great fun exploring and making different colours. They mixed powder paint with water and excitedly waited to see the change in colour. Outside, the children poured water with watering cans and used brooms to brush the colours together and inside, they used pipettes and paintbrushes.

During our ‘spooky’ week, we made potions by mixing bicarbonate of soda and vinegar and were amazed to see the results. Poor Mrs Flynn was turned into a frog, horse and bat! Look at our photographs to see what fun we had.
